Good day eh!!

We are Canadian nurses working in a Canadian health care system. But, slowly our healthcare system erodes to resemble more like that of the Americans. I concede that we are nowhere as bad as the Americans; however, our healthcare is changing for the worse.

How many people have difficulty locating a doctor? How many people wait months or year(s) for a test, exam or surgery? How many people go to the States to have knee surgery? How many people choose between food or buying prescriptions?

It is not my intention to put down the American healthcare system. But our system works better for the people and I am worried that our Canadian government will slowly erode our system until it no longer stands out as remarkable.

I hope our health care system stays the same as well. We are so blessed here in Canada to have free health care. But then again people do abuse it. No wonder waiting times in the ER are forever, as people go in for simple little cuts and brusies. I guess it is hard to have a perfect health care system, expecially with the shortage of doctors and nurses and with the economy the way it is. I suppose it may just be something we have to live with.

Yes, we do have good health care system. However, the waitng time in ER, waiting to have a surgery done, nursing and medical doctors shortage make our health care little bit challanging.

I agree with you. We are now either one of health care workers or one of health care system comsumers, we can see the pros and cons more clear.
